salut tous mes Projectiles préférés! <-- i think i put too many accents égus...if that's even how you spell it!

on account of the blog being semi-dead (as miss jones so non-chalently pointed out in passing...), i figured it was time for another queen's update.

reading week was ridiculously lazy...lazy to the point where i was semi-mad @ myself for not being a good steward of my time, even though i know rest is a good thing. but i think i kind of abused the whole 'rest' concept. nevertheless, i took a roadtrip to Western later in the week to stay over night @ my sister's in rez and then drove her home the next day like a mad-woman just in time to catch my other sister's school play that was in the Sears competition. I also had the chance just to chill with grandma twice, which is really fun cuz she never lived close enough growing up for me just to stop by for a few hours semi-unannounced.

since reading week, school work has been forever swamping me, but it's been such an eye-opening experience during the whole time. I was working on a paper on the Rwandan Genocide of 1994 (20 pages worth) and it totally broke my heart and made me so much more aware of the things in this world that break God's heart that i normally don't have time to (or don't WANT to make time to) care about. And I've just started today my paper on Anti-semitism in ON and QC, which is also a very sad, yet unfortunately real, part of our past.

BUT, as I was camped out in rows upon rows of shelves in the library, i found myself in the regional parts of Canada section, and I look up, and lo and behold, a whole shelf of books that say LIONEL GROUXL!! (that silly name that i could never seem to spell and our beloved home metro stop this summer) so i had a little mtl-project 'moment' in the middle of the library before i stumbled upon another book designated entirely on the history of Renfrew...that's right jess! even Renfrew has its own book....

My housemate that's been going through all the stuff is doing better...i think. i've been honestly too busy to check in on her as much as i was. she was hospitalized for a few days though over reading week, but she said it did her some good. but i'm pretty sure she's doing better b/c she's been able to get back to semi-normal day-to-day functionning. so that's a praise item! there's still a ways to go though...especially with exams and the added stress that comes with them.

as wynja mentioned before, the queen's c4c retreat was last weekend, and it was awesome!! not quite as restful as i'd hoped b/c i led worship 4 times, but it reminded me (and jess) soooo so much of our camp-out retreat. we had to make all our own meals and there was a cooking/cleaning schedule, and there was only a small group of like 25 of us (a little bigger than ours). but it screamed MTL PROJECT for us...except you guys were missing :( The speaker was REALLY great...one of those ppl you meet and within like 2 minutes of being with him, you know he's SO close to God...you know that they're tight. and he had some great words of challenge and encouragement for everyone.

summer plans: i spent a good chunck of saturday when i was home trying to figure out my summer. i have a few things i'm trying to juggle, including making some $$ (cuz i pay for school totally on my own...), taking a full-year course (or 2 half-year courses) during the spring or summer term most likely @ UofT Mississauga or maybe Mac, and maybe going on tour with Mad Science this summer to teach on a First Nations' reserve in N. Canada, Alberta, QC or the Maritimes. It's something that i've kind of always wanted to do for some weird reason (teaching First Nations), but i'm not sure if this is the time to do it, or if i'll even logistically be able to with the courses i need to take. soooo...lots is still up in the air.

one quick last thing: i'm supposed to let our KSL know my wed (in 2 days) what kind of committments i'd be ok with having for next year within c4c b/c i'm unsure if i should be investing my time/giftings in the c4c community next year or within my church community. it's felt like a bit of a constant struggle this year with c4c @ queen's (especially in the area of worship) and i'm just not sure if i should keep persevering and swallow any self-righteousness, or if i should re-align myself behind a group that i support more fully in the way they go about doing ministry (even though i know they're far from perfect either!)...ok that sounded kind of weird, but it's hard to explain i guess. c4c and i have always bumped heads...yes, that may or may not come as a shock to you...and i kinda feel like i should be pouring into a ministry that i'm REALLY passionate about and that provides a context in which i can serve with my giftings/passions, instead of just being luke-warm and comfortable @ c4c cuz that's where my closest christian fellowship is. don't get me wrong...c4c does some AMAZING things! but i guess i'm just tired of always feeling like my faith lived out in my actions day to day doesn't fit into the framework c4c @ queen's provides and encourages. so either i need a heart-attitude change, or i need to make a change in the ministry i'm serving with/in for next year.

so those are my pensées for the moment. i should be off to bed (or more like should have been in bed over an hour ago...)
